I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they go right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together.

Donating Blood = Fat Disaster

So yesterday started out as a great morning. I met with my study group at chick fila to have a fattening hardy breakfast in preparation for us giving blood. So I thought that a chicken biscuit, hash browns and two diet Dr peppers would be enough to keep my blood sugar intact...but yea not so much. I def fainted, or close enough to it, after giving blood. My first experience at trying to save 3 lives ended with a decision to never do it again. I sat down to have my finger pricked..which actually was the most painful part of the whole process. And much to my surprise my iron levels at 15.7 were pretty stellar. Then I got to lay down and squeeze a stress ball while the nurses desperately tried to find a good vein. After a bunch of poking and sticking and bruising...they get a vein that apparently doesn't produce enough blood fast enough. So in the midst of drinking my sugary Sprite..I begin to feel faint, sweaty, and dizzy. And instead of discontinuing the blood draining..she just elevated my feet. A pint later I was instructed to leave with no time to regain my strength. And into the elevator and down the hall and into the classroom, is where I went down. In my drunken haze, I forced myself to eat an unruly amount of junk from REGULAR coke..sick..to cookies, pretzels, glucose tabs, smoothie, juice..thinking about it now..makes me wanna yack. I did not feel like myself until this morning. But while I have been complaining about my little incident...I got to check an item off my bucket list and save 3 peoples lives. That makes it all worth it!!!!

How I Spent My Spring Break

Oh the joys of spring and the joys of being out of school. I was so thrilled to be out of school for 10 days...that I didn't waste anytime getting down to business. I went to visit my roommate from college on the coast of Mississippi and then went to New Orleans. We had a blast. I got to eat oysters, day drink on some fabulous porches, relax, and spent time with one of my best friends. We shopped and went to a benefit concert featuring Better than Ezra, Tyler Hilton, David Cook, and Ryan Cabrera. Then I pampered my self in Memphis and relaxed all day. I finally got some time to catch up on my television shows, workout, and spend time with some friends that I don't get to see as often. Friday I went out with my best friend Morgan and we painted the town black. It was the first time I went out and really embraced being single...and it couldn't have been a funner night. We got up Saturday and went to Ole Miss for Kat's bday. We shopped, grabbed some daiquiris, and enjoyed the Rebel baseball game complete with beautiful warm sunny weather. I said goodbye to my old house Bowie. There were alot of fabulous memories there that could never be forgotten. We ate dinner at 208..where we got Lobster Mac and cheese, lobster nachos, seared Tuna, She Crab Soup, and a fab bottle of Pino Gricio! It was the best meal I have ever put in my stomach. I am sad that I have to return to school on Tuesday, but I really enjoyed my much needed Spring Break! One plus side to starting back classes is that I get to see my study group....I've really missed them!!
